Choosing foundation is an important step towards achieving the great look you’re aiming for. Some women think that this is a step that is not very crucial especially with so many foundation products available in the market. But anyone who has seen a woman who wears a too light or too dark foundation will know that it is the single best way to ruin a great look.
When choosing a foundation make sure that the shade is at the most only a shade darker or lighter from your natural skin color so you won’t look strange with a radically different skin color on your face compared to your neck and shoulders.

There is an art to applying foundation all over the face. Surprise! It has nothing to do with using the sponge as if you are trying to cover your face with face paint. In fact, we don’t recommend the use of sponge at all! In applying foundation, it is advised that one makes use of a brush. This will ensure the even spreading out of powder dust. This will prevent nasty blotches from forming on your skin. It will also prevent uneven distribution of powder pigments from developing. Just a tip, before you apply the foundation, make sure you clear your skin from impurities with a toner. Apply a thin coat of sunblock as well as this could serve as base already. The base will allow the foundation to stay longer and more natural than it would without one. It will also prevent the dusts of the powder from entering the pores.

It can be used over foundation or on it own, and has greater staying power. Remember, a little goes a long way!1. Since the skin under your eyes is more transparent, it tends to look dark, especially at the inner corner near the bridge of the nose. To even out the tone, concealer is a must. Using liquid concealer, gently pat over dark under-eye circles (don’t sweep it across the entire area), then blend with your ring finger.

2. To cover trouble spots and imperfections, apply a thicker cream concealer onto the blemish or flaw. Then lightly press with a makeup sponge.

Tip: Choose the shade of your concealer carefully. When testing out shades, pick one that matches your skin tone or one shade lighter. It helps to use a mirror outdoors to see how shades look on your skin in natural light.

Tip: Prepare your skin with a light SPF moisturizer before applying concealer for a smoother application.

Are you devastated when you go to the make up department? Do all of the choices of eye shadow color, lipstick, and foundation prescriptions make your head spin? We will help you know accurately what to look for to highlight your natural features and cover or develop those that you are not crazy about. You will find out why you should permanently use products with SPF if existing. This will inhibit future damage and will make your make up habit less demanding (and luxurious) in 15 or 20 years. Imagine holding off the pursuit for wrinkle diminution for even a few years just for a simple reason you decided to add a little moisturizer with SPF everyday to your make up habit. The advantages will last a lifetime.

If your suffering from dry, scaly lips, a simple do-it-yourself home treatment to remove old skin takes only a small scoop of Vaseline and an old toothbrush. Step 1: Put some petroleum jelly with your lips.
Step 2: Use the old toothbrush to massage it in a circular motion.
Step 3: Wipe off the excess petroleum jelly with tissue paper.

The purpose of the toothbrush is to remove the old skin on the lips while the petroleum jelly leaves your lips very supple. Do it a couple times a every day until your lips are no longer dry.

Skin irritation often starts with the wrong product that you use and apply on your face. Oftentimes we forget to check the products that we use on our face because we tend to think that cosmetics dont expire just like our food.

But then think again, expired makeup can cause serious problems to your skin and your health. Always remember when you had bought the product you put on your face.

Products that you apply to your eyes, like mascara, last for only about 3 months. Facial moisturizers, eye shadows, concealers and lipstick should be discarded after 12 months.

Makeup is not complete without the tools that you need to apply them or even enhance your beauty. Use eyelash curlers, to accentuate your eyes before applying your mascara. Use an eye shadow brush on eyelids for those beautiful eyes. Brush for your blusher to achieve those rosy cheeks. These are just some of the essential tools you may want to carry along your purse or use at home for better make up application. Just make sure to clean them often as not to irritate your skin. Dusty and dirty make up tools causes bacteria that may lead to acne and other skin irritation.
